We bought our home fairly recently, and the real estate agent wrote a very nice description. Sure, it may be a bit of a "sell", but it is accurate. Here it is!
"Situated on the edge of San Franciscos chic Cole Valley this state-of-the-art home combines the best of classic architecture with magnificent modern amenities, all amidst a backdrop of a private garden setting. Adding to the appeal is nearby boutique shopping, fine dining and Golden Gate Park. San Francisco living at its very best!
Throughout, the homes exquisite turn-of-the-century architecture has been restored to perfection, blending seamlessly with a line-up of consummate modern functionality including a cutting edge home audio system, flat-panel televisions, and stunning light fixtures. The central gathering point of the home is the fabulously remodeled chefs eat-in kitchen with adjoining family room and computer center.
Spanning four levels, the light-filled home has 5 bedrooms and 4 full bathrooms, highlighted by the master suite with a customized dressing area and spa-inspired bath with steam shower."

Cole Valley is in the center of San Francisco. The "N" train stops 2 blocks from our house and can take you downtown (financial district, Ferry Building, SOMA) in about 20 minutes. We are directly across from Golden Gate Park which "houses" the Academy of Sciences, the Rose Garden, the De Young Museum, the Botanical Gardens, and the Japanese Tea Garden. There are bike rentals around the corner from our house.
Cole Valley itself is chic and family-friendly. It has great restaurants, shopping, and pubs. We are about 5 blocks from Haight / Ashbury which is, of course, famous in its own right. We live on a quiet street, only 2 blocks long, with great neighbors.
If you want to visit San Francisco and see the sites, you will NOT be disappointed with this location.
