This is a very well located, 100 m2 apartment, and it is ideal for two people, especially a couple.
The 4th floor of a typical '70s Turkish family settlement, with large sitting room and study room windows, and a balcony all around them, that are facing toward east. The street where you'd stay is the largest one in the neighborhood with many late-19th and early-20th century Art Nouveau and Art Deco buildings. Through the large windows you get a lot of sunlight (the photos here were taken on a rather cloudy day, sorry!). The bedroom is in the backside with a window on the well that provides ventilation.
The living room is cozy and spacious with a large dining area. There are quite many cd's and dvd's for you to use if you want to. There's a dvd player but no tv, and you can connect it to your laptop. The study room is also very spacious with antique English furniture, and a library with many art books. The bedroom has a comfy double bed, a large wardrobe, and a dressing. The kitchen is fully equipped with all you need if you decide to cook - pans, plates, cutlery, cutting boards, cooking sets, electric kettle, and grill, hand blender etc. Stove, oven, dish washer, washing machine, iron and ironing board are also available.
- Air conditioning, Balcony, Cleaning service available
- Wireless Internet
The location is a real jewel. The apartment is on the European side of Istanbul, 5-10 min walk to Taksim square (tube station) which is the heart of the city, and 5 to the shore on Bosphorus down the slope. At the end of the slope by the sea side is Kabata pier, with ferries to the Asian side and the Bosphorus, as well as the underground funicular up to Taksim square. There by the pier is also a tram stop with trams leaving towards the old city of Sultanahmet (where Aya Sophia, the Hippodrom and the Topkap palace are) through Tophane, Karaky, and Eminn. Dolmabahe Palace is in a 10 min walking distance from the apartment on the sea side toward the opposite direction.
Cihangir, where the apartment is, is where expats, artists, actors, writers, and journalists live. It is full of hip bars, restaurants, and organic shops. It is right next to ukurcuma with all the vintage and antique shops, and to the entertainment and shopping areas of Beyolu. All the galleries and other art spaces are nearby. Yet it is rather more residential and quite here than the surrounding neighborhoods.
A taxi station is right in front of the door.
