A second floor large two bedroom Victorian apartment located on a cobbled road in the city seaside Portobello area of Edinburgh. It is a bright apartment, has good central heating and an open fireplace in the lounge. It has very high ceilings & large bay window views towards Arthurs Seat in Edinburgh. 50m from the bustling Portobello High Street with its local shops & restaurants and 200m from the beach, where there are more pubs and cafes. The beach is clean & sandy, and is popular on sunny days. It is a 2 min walk to a bus stop and takes 30 mins by regular bus (every 10 mins)into the city centre. The lounge & bedrooms are very large (1 double bedroom and one room with a bunkbed).It has a separate dining room & small kitchen & small bathroom

The flat is in a stairwell consisting of 4 flats. A young family live opposite us. Portobello has its own local shops and is a mixed neighbourhood with many young families moving to the area as well as well established local families. It has a vibrant community who organise concerts and arts events as well as there being sailing, canoeing and rowing on the sea. There are may parks in the local area. The houses around are a mix but are mainly Victorian and some Georgian.It has regular access to Edinburgh by bus (or cycle, it takes 20 mins depending how fast you go!). Edinburgh is an ancient historic city with its famous castle and Holyrood Palace in the centre. The city is very well preserved. It also has many art galleries and museums and is host to the annual Edinburgh festival in August as well as many other festivals throughout the year. The Pentland Hills are 20 mins away for walks through hills and glens. The beautiful East Lothian coast line is 30 mins drive away with all its castles and stately homes. The Borders are 45 mins drive away with more access to stunning scenery and ancient castles and batttle sites. The Highlands are two hours drive north e.g. Glen Coe. It is a 1 hour train journey from Edinburgh to get to Glasgow.
